Very popular casual Italian eatery.  Buzzy atmosphere and reasonable prices.


Outback Steakhouse

Very popular steakhouse restaurant.  Casual atmosphere.  Order the ‘Bloomin Onion’, one of the most ordered appetizers in the US. 

FORT MYERS

Unique fish restaurant.  More like a covered lanai prettily decorated with plants and fairy lights with small kitchen preparing the freshest fish in the area.  Very casual and bring your own alcohol!  Order the ‘As much as you can eat Grouper’; it’s the best deal anywhere.  Also has a small fish market inside selling their latest catches and home-smoked fish. 

Reese's Restaurant

If you're down on Fort Myers Beach early and fancy breakfast, this is the place!  Belly busting breakfasts and 'light as air pancakes'.  They also serve lunch.  Nice covered outdoor seating area.

Parrot Key Caribbean Grill

You can sail to this restaurant and moor up if you wish.  Great atmosphere and lovely waterfront views of the back bay.  Mostly outdoor seating and live entertainment. 


Love Boat Home Made Ice Cream

Not a restaurant but a little roadside cottage selling what most locals believe to be the very best ice cream in the county.

Elegant Florida style restaurant with lovely outdoor screened lanai with marina views.  The Caesar Salad is very good.

Upscale restaurant.  Friendly staff, delicious food, especially the homemade potato chips with gorgonzola dip.  If you are a party of 6 ask for the private grotto room for a unique dining experience.

Large buzzing casual restaurant with outdoor covered bar.  Live music at weekends.  Island influenced menu.  Open late.  Located by Home Depot on US41.

Lively BBQ joint with bar area.  Order the platter option where you can choose up to 3 choices of barbecued meat and 2 sides; addictive!

The best fish restaurant in Fort Myers.  Modern feel and popular with locals and visitors.  Big bar area and seating if you just want a quick bite.  Be prepared to wait for a table.

Delicious Italian food in lively casual atmosphere.  A better bet than Carrabba’s as lines not quite so long here.  Honesty system in place regarding house wine.  They put a bottle on the table and you tell them how many you’ve had.  Order the ‘Make your own pasta dish’ where you select your pasta shape, sauce and additional ingredients to make your very own recipe.  Portions are generous.

Not a restaurant but a small shop selling the best tasting cheesecakes you’ll ever have.  The Chocolate Fudge Cheesecake is to die for.

Great place to take children.  Lively 50’s diner style burger joint with dancing waiters and waitresses.  Pretty good burgers and delicious chili fries.  Located within Bell Tower Shops.

Modern Italian food with the emphasis on freshness.  Spacious indoor eating area and pleasant outdoor dining area.  Good service.  Best bargain restaurant for a glass of wine – pay one price only and free refills all evening.  Located in Bell Tower Shops.

Popular casual chain which originated in California.  Offers breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Small outside eating area.  Friendly staff and extensive menu with good prices.  Located in Bell Tower Shops.

Freshly made to order Mexican food.  Walk in, order from the menu at the counter and watch as your food is made for you.  Menu consists of burritos, fajitas, quesadillas and tacos.  The burritos are huge and absolutely delicious, not to mention a bargain.  Perfect as a quick fix rather than a full-blown dining experience.

Locally owned and run seafood restaurant.  Casual atmosphere and very friendly staff who are always happy to please.  The crab cakes are particularly good.

Upscale eatery specializing in seafood.  Nice outdoor patio eating area.  The Chesapeake Crabcakes are excellent.  Located in Bell Tower Shops.

Intimate and upscale restaurant specializing in French and Vietnamese cuisine.  For a bit of tableside drama order the Bananas Foster which are prepared to order tableside.  The owner can often be seen roasting his own coffee in a specially designed room just off the restaurant.

Very popular lunch spot.  As much as you can eat buffet style restaurant offering a huge range of salad items, pasta and soups.

Publix Supermarket Stores   situated in various Cape Coral, Fort Myers and Fort Myers Beach locations.  Florida based supermarket chain with the best in-store bakery as far as the supermarket competition goes.
 

Sweetbay Supermarket Stores situated on Cape Coral Parkway, Cape Coral and various Fort Myers locations.  Upmarket supermarket chain new to Florida.  Good range of products & nice butchery service.


Paesano Italian Supermarket   Located 862 Lafayette St , Cape Coral.  Large Italian supermarket with butchery, deli, fresh produce and home-cooked Italian dishes.  Imported delicacies such as olive oil also.  Gets very busy on Saturdays.  Also has nice outdoor café serving lunch and dinner.

Albertson’s Supermarket Stores   Situated on Cape Coral Parkway, Cape Coral and various Fort Myers locations.  Considered by locals as more budget-friendly for grocery shopping than Publix.  Good meat & fish.

Wal-Mart
  Various locations in Cape Coral and Fort Myers.  What ever you need you’ll find it in this huge discounter store that sells just about everything you could think of.

 

Edison Mall   Located on the corner of US41 and Colonial Blvd.  Fort Myers original mall.  Home to the usual national chains including Dillards, Macy’s, Sears and JC Penney.  Large food court offering a wide range of dining options.

Bell Tower Shops  Located on the corner of US41 and Daniels Parkway, Fort Myers.  Upscale outdoor shopping mall with Mediterranean themed architecture.  Home to Saks 5th Avenue & national chains such as Banana Republic. Lovely place to wander around.  Lots of restaurant options to choose from, particularly of the fine dining variety.


Home Goods
  Located on the corner of US41 and Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers.  Excellent home décor store selling discounted designer home items such as linen, china, artwork, cookware etc.


Stein Mart
  Located in Cypress Trace Shopping Mall on the corner of US41 & Cypress Lake Drive, Fort Myers.  Excellent discount store selling designer women & men’s fashion, childrens clothes, shoes and home goods.


Tanger Outlet Shops
  Located on Summerlin Road, Fort Myers heading towards Sanibel Island.  Pleasant outdoor shopping mall with Floridian architecture.  Heavily discounted designer outlet stores include Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Gap, Nine West, Coach, Liz Claiborne, Fossil & Reebok.  


Miromar Outlets
  Located just of I-75 at Exit 123 between Fort Myers and Naples.  The area’s premier outlet mall.  Lovely outdoor location with Mediterranean architecture.  Features over 120 discounted designer stores including Saks 5th Avenue, Ralph Lauren, Escada, Cole Haan, Ellen Tracey, Nike, Adidas, Reebok, Tommy Hilfiger & Michael Kors.  A selection of nice dining options available also.

The area’s only water park.  12 Acres of fun with lots of slides, tot pool, family pool and lazy river.  Also has café offering drinks and food.  Gets very busy at the weekend at during US school holidays.


Greenwell’s Bat-A-Ball Family Park

Great place for kids.  Has 19 hold crazy golf course, 8 batting cages, 4 go-kart tracks, fish feeding dock, childrens’ playground & large game arcade.


Cape Coral Yacht Club

If you don’t fancy crossing the bridge to the beaches for Fort Myers, the Cape has its’ very own man-made beach with large pier in the yacht club area of the city.  There is also a heated outdoor community pool, public tennis club, public boat ramp & small casual restaurant.

Boating is the most popular & enjoyable past time on the Cape.  Even if you’ve never sailed before you may want to consider a day out exploring on your very own boat; it’s a lot of fun & the marina will give you a lesson before you set off.  We’ve had very good reports from past guests on the service offered by Tarpon Point Marina.  Call ahead for availability as boats get booked up in advance during the season and national holidays.
